2 Belvidere Residents Arrested in Hackettstown for Running Unlicensed Taxis

Police arrested two more unlicensed taxi drivers last week as part of a crackdown on the practice, police said.

Martha Allardice, 48, and Derek Allardice, 46, both of Belvidere, were arrested on Friday for allegedly using personal vehicles as taxis. Both were accused of picking children up at school.

“We have been having issues with illegal taxis and legal taxis no following the ordinance,” Sgt. Darren Tynan told Patch. “We have been cracking down for the safety of our residents that use taxis.”
