Branchville to Vote on Merging Court with Wantage

Branchville to vote on joint court with Wantage

A proposal to transfer Branchville’s municipal court function to the joint municipal court of Wantage appears close to being finalized.

The measure, which received the unanimous support of the Wantage Township Committee on Thursday, awaits final passage by the Branchville Borough Council, which meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

All indications are, however, that the measure is headed toward approval.

Under the proposal, Branchville would withdraw from its current shared services arrangement with Frankford, whose joint court under Judge James Devine also services the municipalities of Lafayette and Branchville.
