Hacketstown Fire Leads to Dramatic Escape for Five People

5 escape uninjured from Hackettstown fire

 Five people escaped uninjured from a house fire that spread to an adjacent home in the town Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the Hackettstown police, fire department and rescue squad responded to a home at 310 Grand Avenue for a report of a structure fire.

When officers arrived on scene, they observed flames and smoke coming from the structure, police said.

The officers were advised that the occupants of the multi-level home had been evacuated and observed the fire spreading to the home located next to it, according to police.
