| Victim Identified in Fatal Shooting on Ampere Parkway Bloomfield |
Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia and Public Safety Director Samuel DeMaio assure residents that there is no reason to believe further violence will occur in the area following the shooting death on Ampere Parkway this evening. DeMaio confirmed that this was a targeted shooting.
At approximately 7 p.m. Saturday evening, the first reports came over the wires about an individual being shot in the neck by someone wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The victim, Juan Santos-Martinez, 55, of East Orange, was shot while in a vehicle. The victim’s identity was confirmed by Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino.
