Morris County Woman Faces Probabtion For Stealing from Disabled Person

Mine Hill woman gets four years probation for stealing from disabled man

Mine Hill woman was sentenced to four years’ probation for stealing $42,686 from a disabled Denville man. She must also repay the victim at least $400 per month, the judge ruled on Friday.

Julianne “Juli” Porphy Jandik, 53, pleaded guilty in December to theft by unlawful taking between August 2015 and September 2016 from a disabled man, now 59, identified as E.B.

Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Tom Schmid told Superior Court Judge Catherine Enright the victim allowed Jandik to assume control of his finances, in part because of his disability.
