The new High Tech School, being built in Secaucus, will be the gem of high schools in Hudson County, Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli said after touring the facility this week.
The complex — a three-story hub with classrooms, an underground parking garage, administrative offices, cafeteria, gymnasium, a 400-seat theater and three extensions — is expected to be open in time for the 2018-19 school year.
The total cost of the project, part of the Hudson County Schools of Technology (HCST), is $160 million. The high school is currently located in North Bergen.
Gonnelli, other Secaucus officials and HCST administrators toured the construction site Wednesday.
