| Morris Plains Police say suspect posed as cop during robberies |
Morris Plains police charged a Paterson man Monday with theft, robbery and impersonating a police officer during a December robbery of two Candlewood Suites Hotel patrons.
Timothy Simon, 29, was already incarcerated at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on similar charges. He was arrested on Feb. 17 by Clifton detectives and charged with a rash of hotel robberies that have occurred since early fall.
The robberies involved a man posing as a police officer to hold up prostitutes.
