| New Brunswick Student Faces Criminal Charges Following School Lockdown |
A male teenager from New Brunswick is facing criminal charges in connection with a two-hour lockdown of the city high school on Jan. 19, police said.
The suspect, a 16-year-old high school student, faces charges of terrorist threats and creating a false public alarm, according to a statement from police spokesperson Capt. JT Miller. The statement does not include the boy’s name as he is a minor.
Police and school officials put the school on lockdown at around 9:20 a.m., after reports began spreading of a gun being brought into the school, Miller said.
