Three Teens Fall Through Vernon Valley Lake Ice, Escape Unharmed

Three Vernon teens escape injury after falling through ice at Vernon Valley Lake

Three teenagers were able to free themselves and escape injury after they fell through the ice on Vernon Valley Lake Monday afternoon, police said.

The teen males — two 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old — were ice fishing just before 1 p.m. on the lake when they fell through the ice, according to police.

The teens were able to free themselves prior to authorities arriving on scene and were assisted to shore by a local family that lives on the lake, according to police.
