| Police: Vernon man angry over power outage threatened JCP&L |
A township man whose home has been without power since Friday’s nor’easter threatened to kidnap a JCP&L employee and blow up a substation, authorities said.
Robert Winter, 63, of the Glenwood section of Vernon, is charged with third-degree terroristic threats.
Vernon police say Winter called JCP&L on Monday to complain that he was still without power and became agitated while speaking with a utility staffer. They say he threatened to kidnap an employee and indicated that he knew how to make bombs and would blow up a substation so no one would have power.
