After Woman Killed in Jersey City Hit and Run, Manhunt Continues for Driver

A widespread manhunt is underway for a hit-and-run driver who killed a New Jersey woman, authorities say, and a video has been released of the suspect’s car (see below).

The victim has been identified as Theresa Florence, age 63, of Jersey City. After the Wednesday crash, she was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services where she was treated for her injuries. Florence was pronounced dead at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The incident happened at approximately 6:29 a.m., when the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle, in the westbound lane of Grand Avenue, near the intersection of Johnston Avenue, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
