Man who killed Belleville girlfriend in fight over her texts gets 14 years in prison

 Pedro Lora-Pena hung his head low as he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for shooting his girlfriend in the face following an argument over her texting another man.

Superior Court Judge Ronald D. Wigler handed down the sentence at Superior Court in Essex County on Monday as members of the Belleville victim, Diana Boggio, watched. Boggio was 41 at the time of her Jan. 28 slaying.

Pena, 43, previously pleaded guilty to homicide, moving or concealing human remains, unlawful possession of a handgun, and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.
