Mill Street Bridge Work Could Affect Traffic for Belleville Communters

Belleville commuters: Expect detours during Mill Street bridge work

By this summer, a newly refurbished bridge is expected to span the Second River at Mill Street.

But before that happens, drivers must make do with detours.

Starting Thursday, drivers headed east on Mill Street coming from Belleville Avenue will be directed to turn right onto Montgomery Street, then left on Berkeley Avenue, left on Newark Avenue, and left again onto Harrison Street, before turning right onto Mill Street, according to Essex County Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. Westbound traffic will take the opposite route, he said.
