3 Staten Island men accused of fake-bomb stunt at Newark Airport; said they were filming TV show

Three Staten Island men were among nine people arrested Thursday for trying to pass through Newark Airport security with a fake bomb while claiming to film the incident for a television show, authorities said.

Ruben Montenegro, 44, of Annadale; Michael L. Palmer, 51, of Rossville; and Adolfo Lacola, 51, of Richmond Valley, were charged with public false alarms, interference with transportation and conspiracy, said Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

The Port Authority Police were called to the security screening at Terminal One to investigate a suspicious package in a carry-on bag that looked like an explosive device, Pentangelo said.
