| Jersey City (NJ) Firefighters Rescue Woman in Wheelchair While Fighting Fire |
Firefighters helped evacuate a woman in a wheelchair while battling a fire in the Heights on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
One firefighter was also injured while extinguishing the fire at 143 Palisade Ave., city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
The fire was reported just before 1 p.m. When officers arrived, flames were visible inside two windows on the top floor of the three-story home, Wallace-Scalcione said.
